It just so happened that my father and his brother served in the Special Forces of the Airborne Forces in the Caucasus. Since childhood, I was brought up in the spirit and romance of the Airborne Forces, I lived it and in many ways it helped and saved me! There was always unshakable self-confidence. It was impossible for me not to serve or serve in the mahr!

On the day I arrived at the draft board, on the same day a paratrooper officer arrived from Ryazan. I got so fed up with him that he already started smoking nervously and eventually took me to the team. I served in the reconnaissance company of the 137th Guards. There was no more recruitment in the Airborne Forces at that time.

A little over a year ago, I was going to join the army and there were a lot of questions in my head:

I don't remember all of them now. I didn’t have the opportunity to consult with a person who knew me then, so I had to go through this path myself, blindly.

To begin with, I was called up from the hero city of St. Petersburg and decided for myself that I want to get to Pskov. Special Forces or Airborne is not so important. Or at worst, to the Northern or Baltic Fleet, to the Marine Corps, I really like the black beret.

It all starts with the district military registration and enlistment office, where at first I successfully and quickly passed the medical commission with the A1 fitness category and at a meeting with the head of the district military registration and enlistment office I said that I wanted to serve in Pskov, in special forces. I send all the guys with this wish to additionally fill out questionnaires and write psychological tests. All this is successfully completed and delivered.
As it turned out, in order to be taken into the army, you must first go to the district clinic to donate blood and do a flask. Only after all the commissions have been passed and the analyzes have been submitted, you are given a summons.

The path starts from the district military registration and enlistment office, from there all recruits are taken to the central city one, where they all change clothes and are assigned to teams. By the way, they didn’t deceive me, and on the appointed day they really came to recruit a team for the GRU Spetsnaz. On this day, some group came to the military registration and enlistment office, performing army songs and veterans from the union of paratroopers held competitions. There was a push-up competition, everyone took part. I also took part and took an honorable 2nd place. I don't remember how much I pushed back then.
I don’t know for what reason, but they didn’t take me to the team in SPN.
At some point, late in the evening, a young lieutenant in a naval uniform came into the room with a huge pile of military tickets. Among them was mine.
I will not describe the details of the trip, but after a few days, a conscript who is going to serve in the fleet finds himself in a military camp, the so-called ZATO. I ended up in Severomorsk.
In Severomorsk, another medical commission was waiting for me, psychological tests were once again decided. Getting into the fleet, each private is assigned the rank of sailor and the next distribution awaits him. It will be decided where he gets: Small vessels, Large vessels, the Coast Guard, the Marine Corps or other separate branches of the military. If you're lucky from Severomorsk, you can go to the Special Forces of the Navy, the so-called combat swimmers (reconnaissance diver). This happens as follows: in front of the PTK, an officer in a green coat, an ordinary cap and a smoothing like an infantry on his chest enters the office and asks all the athletes to name themselves. With me, almost everyone who had at least some relation to the sport was taken to the Special Forces.
There are many military units in the Northern Fleet called "marines", but the best and real of them is located in the village of Sputnik, where I ended up.

Daily many hours of physical exercise, making the fighter ready to perform any task anywhere in the world. Hand-to-hand training in pairs and working with edged weapons is another integral element of the training of the Marine Corps. The guys are taught a large number of hand-to-hand combat techniques that will allow them to quickly and effectively neutralize the enemy during the battle. In addition, during the hand-to-hand training of the marines, the fear of the enemy disappears among the soldiers and they go into battle, ready to meet with any enemy.
