It's time to change cars, because. on Octavia http://avtomarket.ru/opinions/Skoda/Octavia/33668/ mileage exceeded 100 t.km. I follow the car very carefully, I just wanted to update. The choice was between Passat B7 and Audi A4. Leaned towards the Passat. Previously, I owned a Passat B6 from 2008 to 2011, I bought it new and, in principle, I was satisfied with the car.

So, Passat B7 1.8 DSG Highline 12g.v. mileage 45 t.km - good equipment (leather interior + alcantara, aluminum inserts + xenon + LED rear lights, wheels 17 "(Assembly Germany)).

Looking ahead, I will say that I sold the car after a month of ownership. Well, everything is in order.

Strengths:

  • Appearance
  • lighting technology
  • Salon - beautiful and very comfortable seats - alcantara + leather
  • Big trunk

Weak sides:

  • Disgusting soundproofing
  • Women's suspension
  • DSG chatter

Part 2

Greetings local readers and writer!

In memory of a reliable friend and to help buyers of B7 trade winds, I want to tell you about the car with which we lived together for 3.5 years and 126,000 km.

I'll start with reasons for replacement. Despite the high mileage, I was not going to change the car for at least another year, but the frantic currency fluctuations and ownerless money made their adjustments. It was decided to replace the trade wind with a new car, because. cars at the old ruble prices still remained, but by 2016 their cost would have increased by 1.5-2 times. As a result, I bought an A4 Quattro with a 2-liter engine, it felt like downshifting in some positions, for a full replacement it was necessary to take the A6, but the Tiguan, for example, was not taken seriously at all. So the trade wind is a very worthy car, despite the “budget package” which included:

Strengths:

reliability,

low cost of ownership.

Weak sides:

Falling prices on the secondary.

Review of Volkswagen Passat 2.0 TDI (140 HP / 2.0 L. / 6MKPP) (Volkswagen Passat) 2013

Many who followed the cars that I owned before the Volkswagen Passat know that every year I “tally” the results of the car’s operation for this period. November 27, 2014 It's been exactly one year since United Airlines left the dealership, so it's time to post your opinion on this car. As usual, I will try to make the review as unbiased and objective as possible. By tradition, let's start the "debriefing" with the shortcomings. As you know, any car has flaws and Passat B7, of course, is no exception.

Flaws

1. Wheezing of columns at negative temperature Known problem Passat B6 / B7, which I encountered almost a month after buying a car, as soon as the first frost hit. When the temperature outside is below -10 degrees, the driver's door speaker refused to work. Naturally, after driving around the city for some time, the speaker began to wheeze at first, and then worked completely properly. This is a warranty case, but it is quite difficult to prove this to the dealer, because. after the temperature rises, the wheezing disappears. Plus, I do not really trust the officials, so I postponed the solution to this problem until the installation of acoustics from DynAudio.

Strengths:

  • Quick interior warm-up
  • Excellent soundproofing
  • Turning light in foglights
  • Quality audio training
  • Clearance
  • Heated windshield
  • Huge trunk
  • Reliability
  • Prestige
  • Tuning options
  • Controllability
  • Engine

Weak sides:

  • Wheezing of columns at a negative temperature
  • Engine vibrations in severe frosts
  • Rear windows won't roll down all the way
  • Hatchback ergonomics are still better
  • crickets
  • Not Audi

Review of Volkswagen Passat 2.0 TDI (140 HP / 2.0 L. / 6MKPP) (Volkswagen Passat) 2013 Part 2

It is always a pity to part with good things. It is especially a pity if this thing has never let you down and has always served faithfully. That's what my United Airlines was like. The liner that always took me and my passengers to the right place. He never asked for any special attention to himself. It delightfully combined reliability, beauty and excellent driving performance. Let many say that this car is for "pensioners", but I loved my Passat. Just like that: strict, restrained and confident, I will remember him.

Reason for sale

Strengths:

  • seat fabric
  • Constructor
  • Strict appearance
  • Mechanics
  • Engine

Weak sides:

  • Electronic handbrake
  • Non-switchable stabilization system
  • Heated steering wheel

Review of Volkswagen Passat 1.8 TSI (Volkswagen Passat) 2014

Background.

Departure 4 years and 90,000 km. on a car skoda Octavia A5 Fl 1.8 tsi 6mt began to think about changing it to something more recent. Initially (late 2014) I considered the new Octavia a7, preferably in a station wagon body, and even better with all-wheel drive (scout). But while he was going, the dollar jumped sharply up, and with it the prices of cars. And such a coveted car began to cost no small 1.6 million rubles. I didn't have that kind of money, so this option was dropped. However, I continued to monitor the market and travel / call salons in search of some interesting offer. And now at the end of March I went to test the restyled vw jetta. However, a few days later the manager from the vw salon called me and offered me a vw passat b7 in a good configuration for a very interesting price. Went, felt, looked and decided to take. For a week I sold skoda and went with the money to the salon for a new car.

Strengths:

  • Dynamics
  • Controllability
  • Excellent suspension and steering

Weak sides:

  • Gas pedal
  • Rain sensor
  • Relatively narrow trunk opening

Review of Volkswagen Passat 1.4 TSI BlueMotion (Volkswagen Passat) 2012

1.4 TSI with DSG, basic equipment, mileage when buying 58, now 62, serviced only at the dealer (which is in Volgograd). I took it for 680, plus the owner left 900 numbers as a gift :) I'm not a fan, but let them be, don't change it).

I compare it with the b6 that I had in 2010 and the bmw 316 f30 that I drove in September-October (in the database it is like a trade wind, the class is the same, I can compare it). Before that, there was a mercedes ML (there is a review) and much more, who are interested — everything is indicated in the garage.

Due to certain circumstances, 700 thousand money was allocated for the car, the main criteria: no older than 2 years, under warranty (the seller bought an additional warranty for 3 years), automatic, d or e class, good handling, therefore only German. Well, I didn’t really have to choose, especially since there was already such a car (b6), I left only positive impressions.

Strengths:

  • Fast and smooth gear changes
  • Economical
  • Spacious
  • Big trunk
  • Solid appearance
  • Inexpensive Casco

Weak sides:

  • Hard
  • Doesn't know how to turn a little more fun than in a pensioner way
  • Noisy
  • creaky
  • Trembling and trembling when driving at idle, incl. in reverse

Review of Volkswagen Passat 1.8 TSI (Volkswagen Passat) 2012

Good day everyone!

Almost a year ago, in August '12, I bought a Volkswagen Passat 1.8 turbo with a DSG automatic transmission. Before him, I drove a Ford Focus 1.6 automatic for almost three years - the most positive impressions, given its low cost, never failed, worked like clockwork in summer and winter, took me and my family twice to Finland, and I had to travel around Russia. Yes, it's not about him, however. I will not compare the Passat with it, it is incorrect - they are in different categories.

So — Passat. When I was financially ready to buy a large sedan, I didn’t particularly experience the torment of choice, I went to test the Toyota Camry 2.5 and, accordingly, the Passat, they were both about the same price plus or minus 50 thousand. Toyota had an aura of reliability, super-liquidity in the subsequent sale, a new body that seemed interesting to me - and I went to test it first. I went to the Moscow Ring Road, drowned the sneaker - it rides well, the machine is clearly on friendly terms with the engine, it accelerates cheerfully, but this steering wheel ... ... spoiled the whole impression - empty to disgrace. Yes, and the noise isolation was unpleasantly surprised, although, probably, part of the fault is on the poor factory tires - very noisy. Then he immediately rushed to the Volkswagen salon in order to get a new impression and compare the cars freshly. I took shape, listened to the briefing, got behind the wheel, drove to the Moscow Ring Road - and began to enjoy it. From how it rulitsya, how to sit in a comfortable chair, from excellent dynamics — in sport mode, the box is generally a hurricane! I asked the manager about the survivability of the DSG, since there are a lot of whining reviews on the Internet about it, to which the answer was received that, they say, the Germans finalized it in 2012, and there were complaints about previous models. And in any case, the guarantee for it is 5 years, regardless of mileage. I didn’t think for a long time - I chose from the stock - the color is beige, the interior is black - the seats are trimmed with combined leather, aluminum inserts on the front panel - it looks good, I like it to this day. In terms of driving, the Passat is quite self-sufficient - there are enough dynamics always and everywhere, of course, taking into account the sport mode, the suspension is assembled, elastic, someone will call it harsh, but it suits me - the wheels are 17th, you have to sacrifice something for beauty, in this In this case, you pay with a somewhat tough passage of deep potholes or, conversely, convex parts of asphalt after the repair of these same potholes by hand-assed repairmen. He does not like transverse cracks under two wheels at once, but who loves them ... .. The noise is decent, but it depends very much on the rubber. For the winter, I put a non-studded Nokia Hakkapelita R — so there was such silence in the cabin — a song, I went and purred with pleasure! But as soon as the summer factory Continental was put back in the spring, it got used to acoustic discomfort for several days, it was so unpleasant. For 50,000 mileage, there is nothing to complain about - everything works, everything turns, delivers me from point A to point B quickly and with pleasure for me. Native music suits me quite well - of course, I'm not a music lover, but I listen to both radio and CDs - an excellent juicy sound on my own radio tape recorder. When buying, I installed Webaster in the cabin - from October to March I used it every day - what a cool thing for our climate - in the morning you get into a warm car and life appears in bright colors! When I bought a car, my wife asked me to install a navigation system - this is the head unit, it is installed instead of the head unit - there is navigation, music, telephone. First, the phone turned up - the microphone frankly did not work, then this very head unit went out and did not turn on anymore ... I took the poor fellow to the service, handed it over for repair, put the head unit back and did not take it off again. And honestly, her sound is an order of magnitude better than in that very head unit. Of course, they fixed it for me, so I drive it in a box in the trunk.

Strengths:

  • Excellent dynamics of the turbocharged engine
  • Nimble gearbox
  • Very spacious interior
  • Big trunk

Weak sides:

  • Harsh suspension work on poor asphalt pavement
  • Lack of cruise control

Part 2

So, the second part of the review is exactly one year later.

Of course, I did not drive as much as some, but I can already summarize my operating experience. I still like the Passat. Only the emotions that raged immediately after the purchase subsided. The appearance of the car is recognizable, strict, noble. You won’t believe it, but even though a dozen of 2 new Tradewinds have already appeared in our city, they still pay attention and turn around. It's definitely flattering. You look at other new crafts of the automotive industry: what a design!, what a style!, what a salon!, and then you approach your car and forget about others. Why am I writing about this? Yes, because this is an important thing - so that the appearance of the car does not stop liking during operation. And vice versa happens...

I do not know where to start, so I'll start with the first MOT. I arrived at it when there were only 6 thousand km on the odometer. But a year has passed and I decided not to risk it and go through it according to the rules. At TO1, they changed the oil, added coolant ~ 200 ml, changed the oil and cabin filters, eliminated the problems I described (more on them below), updated the control unit program (removed the maximum speed limit, which was at 185 km / h - now 225-230 subjectively). Paid incomplete 7 thousand rubles. It was a pity for the dough, because I could do it all myself, but I didn’t want problems with the guarantee. I have never topped up the oil. The level has always been good. The servicemen were very surprised at the complete absence of a glass washer in the tank (they said that I had a cobweb there), but I really never poured it. Rainy summer, then winter, then again rainy spring / summer - in general, I used natural precipitation. I wanted to pour it many times, and then I completely forgot about it - the rain sensor and wipers worked properly and did not require intervention.

Review of Volkswagen Passat 1.8 TSI (Volkswagen Passat) 2011

A little about choice. In fact, after Honda, I wanted a crossover that was high, all-wheel drive, a powerful engine, no less bells and whistles than in the Accord, with a budget of up to 1.4-1.5 million and not our assembly !!! Perhaps it is surprising, but I did not find a suitable candidate for myself. That is expensive - Honda Crosstour, Toyota Highlander, for example, and it is empty for this money. That is collected from us - Nissan Murano, FV Tiguan. That engines are rather weak - RAV 4, Grand Vitara. That equipment is too small - Outlander XL, even at maximum speed with a 3 liter engine, does not have elementary things. That is not in our county Of. dealer, and I'm lazy. Probably snickering, bastard. Don't consider me a racist, but I didn't consider Koreans on principle. I would take a Honda CRV, but in a year it will be updated and the toad will crush you to drive a new, but obsolete car. By the end, my Honda had already been deregistered, and it was necessary to be determined faster. As a result, the Passat won, which I am quite happy about.

Now about the FV Passat itself. I took it because I liked the quality of materials, assembly, a sufficient number of options, the price was less than I expected, and it was available. The manager assured that the assembly was German, I believed it, but immediately checked it for fault - it was really German. Before that, I did not own the Passat and did not consider it. But as soon as I sat inside, I immediately felt that the car was mine. Feelings of good quality, solidity of a certain gloss in the finish - something that I lacked in other applicants. Outwardly, the Accord is more stylish and sporty, but the Passat is more important and solid. at low speed (useful). System without key access to the interior and trunk and engine plant with a button (conveniently). Blinds on the rear doors and electric blinds on the rear window (cool). Heated rear seats (relevant). An electric handbrake (not to press a bastard with a finger) and a recoil system. Tire pressure sensors (clear). I will not list a large number of small bells and whistles, which in total give a feeling of greater sophistication and high cost. I really liked the combined finish of the seats - suede with "leather". Suede does not burn so much in the heat and does not become a stake in cold weather. And the seats themselves in the Accord, for me, are more convenient! Either Volz's seats are short, or my legs are long, but I did not immediately find a comfortable position behind the wheel. The Passat is higher than the Accord, definitely. And the clearance is greater (165mm versus 145mm) and the landing is higher. Moreover, the space above your head, with the seats raised to the maximum, is also a couple of cm larger. Where I drove with great care on the Honda, on the Passat - calmly and faster. We put the Passat for this fat +. Salon FV is narrower, a portable DVD does not fit between the seats on the armrest, and there is much more legroom for rear passengers. From here, landing in the rear seats is more convenient. By the way, the heating of the front and rear seats on the Passat is a functional thing, as the seats are heated even without the presence of a rider. In the Honda, the skin warmed up badly until someone's butt put pressure on him. The trunk in the Accord is also rather big, but in the Passat it is better equipped. There are side niches with a partition. There are 4 bag hooks.

Strengths:

  • Comfortable, dynamic, good German

Weak sides:

  • Zhor oil

Review of Volkswagen Passat 1.8 TSI (Volkswagen Passat) 2011

Volkswagen Passat 1.8 TSI MT Comfort "Iceland" + Technic package

So, why exactly Volkswagen and exactly Passat? To do this, tell the background of the purchase. Before that, I had a Nissan Primera 1.6 109 hp. MT 2006 onwards sedan kopl. elegance. Machine was basically satisfied. Drove her for 5 years. For all this time, not a single breakdown related to the quality and reliability of the car. But 2 times they drove into me, then in front, then behind, and the last time they set fire to the neighbor's Infiniti FH35 standing in the yard next to me, and I also suffered from fire. Here my patience snapped (to be guilty without guilt and get on expensive body repairs). Maybe an evil fate hung over my Nissan? Sold without regret, but the memories of the car were positive.

The question of choice became acute as soon as I was left without wheels. I forgot myself for two weeks and continued to look for the signaling key fob in my pockets. He quarreled with greedy taxi drivers and jostled in crowded minibuses. And he killed all night long, sitting at the computer and reading tons of information about cars. After sitting like this for a month and a half or two, I realized that I must definitely touch, feel, sit, press, go ... But still, thanks to the one who invented the Internet - I have not digested such a quantity of information for a long time in such a time frame. Special thanks to those who invented auto-forums - there is where to laugh and think at the same time.

Strengths:

  • Breed
  • Character
  • Drive
  • Quality
  • Comfort
  • capacity
  • Safety
  • economy

Weak sides:

  • Long wait for a car

Review of Volkswagen Passat 1.4 TSI BlueMotion (Volkswagen Passat) 2011

Greetings to all. At the request of the members of the forum, I post a review about VW Passat B 7 1.4 TSI . Sorry, the mileage is small, I can’t evaluate the operating costs and reliability yet.

Well, let's start. On March 20, 2011, a Discovery 3 land rover with a trailer and a security driver drove into my golf5, the blow was not strong, but the driver's stand had to be cut out, and therefore it was decided to sell a friend and buy a replacement for him.

Has begun search for suitable options, the requirements were as follows: so that the car was no worse than the previous one, it was NOT made in Russia, there would be 6 speeds in the box, there would also be 6 airbags, well, at a price of 800-850 thousand. As a result, I came back to golf, only already in the 6th generation and in the highline configuration (it differs from the 5th in slightly modified optics, tidy and the presence of an airbag in the driver's knees). Went to order while driving, his wife was different — I want a machine! It’s worth making a digression here, about the box, I just didn’t want to buy an automatic machine, especially the VAGovsky DSZH (it works fine, but there are questions about reliability), especially since there are no traffic jams in our town, and 80% of my mileage is the Kiev highway, one of the best in the country. Also, when buying for a machine, you have to pay extra (for VAG it’s about 65-70k), well, during operation you regularly pay more fuel consumption, although the manufacturer convinces you of the opposite. In general, the wife whined, whined and whined that she would pay for the breakdowns and bear the costs associated with the breakdowns. The price of the car from 850 turned into 920!!! Not a few times for golf class something, but competitors are not asleep and are comparable. Considering that I bought the 3rd car from the same dealer, it was agreed that when buying in cash 4% discount, when buying on credit 3% (standard loan program of the largest bank in the country) + carpets as a gift. The order is made, the delivery time of the car is 3.5 months, which means that 2 out of 3 summer months I will be a pedestrian, but what to do, "c" est la vie "

Strengths:

  • Made in Germany
  • Clear and understandable in management
  • Comfortable in the cabin
  • Nice appearance
  • fuel consumption
  • Low purchase price
  • Insurance has no special requirements
  • I hope that it is as reliable as previous VAG products

Weak sides:

  • Turning radius larger than golf
  • Can't see trunk in rearview mirror
  • From the depths of the trunk, what the hell can you get without climbing up to your waist

Review of Volkswagen Passat 1.4 TSI BlueMotion (Volkswagen Passat) 2011 Part 3

Please excuse me. Instead of continuing the operating experience, I want to briefly answer the main opinions and judgments of the forumists.

The purpose of buying a car — minimizing costs — I think achieved. Approximately 20.0 thousand rubles savings on transport tax, reduced costs for current maintenance - about 30.0% compared to Camry 3.5. MOT after 15 t.km instead of 10.0 t.km.

Will the Passat be just as reliable? This can only be confirmed by time, or rather km under the wheels. I have had many different cars. From the premium class — there was no Merc. It is in youth that everything is needed - both prestige and the power of a car, as an external attribute. I don't need all this now. A car is just a means of transportation for me. And the movement should be economical and comfortable.

Strengths:

  • Good quality car

Weak sides:

  • There is none of them. Unless to complete the car - for an additional fee

Second review. Drove 1100 km in a decade. In the early days, I was unhappy that I did not give up on 1.4 TSI. Reasons: for everyday driving only for personal purposes, it is expensive to have a car of more than 800.0 thousand rubles. But I exceeded my spending limit on the purchase of a car by 15.0%. A purchase with a 1.8 engine would increase the price by another 110.0 thousand rubles. Now I have calmed down, we will not rush, I will drive slowly. For a leisurely ride, the car is completely suitable. The average consumption of gasoline is 7.3 liters. Approximately 40.0% city, the rest suburbs and outside the city.

The engine is rough at idle. The reason is direct injection. The car pulls confidently from 1500 rpm. The computer can suggest a shift to a higher gear and the speed may drop to 1200. You can still drive in 4th gear at such speeds, but the car accelerates slowly, and if it is 5th or 6th gear, you can feel how difficult it becomes for the engine. Therefore, accelerate to the desired speed in 4th gear, and then shift to 6. (This is out of town). I use the transfer switch. Consistently switching does not make sense, only time to lose and burn gasoline.

For a confident ride, especially in the city, it makes no sense to release speed below 1500-1700. The car pulls confidently on the bottoms and at medium speeds, and this can deceive the driver - you can add gas and overtake. But the car is in no hurry to accelerate. Traction does not mean that the car is capable of sharp accelerations. For sharp acceleration, “horses” are needed, and there are only 122 hp of them. Sharp overtaking is not possible. I have to unlearn my Camry 3.5 style of driving. Surprisingly, while you do not want to go fast. Slow driving - speed in the range of 90-110 km / h, short accelerations up to 140 km / h. It's outside the city. On overtaking, you have to be careful - either have a high speed in advance, or a margin of freedom in the oncoming lane. Impressions from the engine - it seems to me that in terms of its characteristics it can be compared with a 1.8 liter atmospheric.

Strengths:

  • After the Camry, the car seems like a toy

Weak sides:

  • The car has no obvious flaws, only the price is higher than that of classmates. But there is something

Review of Volkswagen Passat 1.4 TSI BlueMotion (Volkswagen Passat) 2011

I searched for reviews of the Passat with a 1.4 TSI engine with MT (122 hp), but did not find acceptable answers from the reviews of the owners. I have a Passat model 2011. Sales start in Russia on May 14, 2011. First of all, I looked in the answers as far as the 1.4 engine can move the car. I had major doubts about this. Because I have always traveled in powerful cars. There was no weak power. The last car is a 3.5L Camry. 2007 onwards For three years and 8 months, I drove 140 thousand km and sold it. Now, in retirement, it has become expensive to maintain such a car. Transport tax - more than 23,000 rubles, gasoline consumption is an average of 10.5 liters in the summer, 11-11.5 liters in the 95th in winter. The car justified itself completely and did not demand from me a single ruble of repair costs during this period. Having bought the Passat for 913.0 thousand rubles. three days getting used — manual box. I got used to it, began to apply the old tricks - to switch through the transmission. Surprisingly, the engine pulls, can easily argue with cars of 1.6 and 1.8 liters (atmospheric).

The new Passat B7 was first presented at the Paris Motor Show in autumn 2010. The 2010 VW Passat belongs to the D-class and is one of the best-selling models of the German company today. In the entire history of the global automotive industry, there are hardly a dozen models that could boast such phenomenal sales success as the 2010 Volkswagen Pasat.

What is the guarantee of such love of motorists for the Volkswagen Passat B7? Obviously, not only in a carefully adjusted marketing policy. One of the reasons for the success of the VW Passat 7, in addition to the highest quality of materials used, is the lack of inclination to experiment with design.

Using the example of the latest Volkswagen Passat 2012, we can confidently say that the German company does not deviate from its traditions. The external changes that the new Volkswagen Passat B7 was subjected to are purely cosmetic. Mainly in the Volkswagen Passat B7, the front and rear lighting equipment has changed, designed in the “corporate” style of all the latest brand updates. VW Passat 2011 model began to look like a premium "Phaeton" (especially in profile) and look more expensive and more prestigious. The modernization of the Volkswagen Passat 2011 also affected the dimensions of the novelty. For example, the new Passat B7 has grown in length by four mm, in height by two, and in width has remained the same.

Salon VW Passat 2012 has slightly changed: the interior has become better and more thoughtful. Its updates include a revised instrument panel, new seats with built-in massagers and ventilation, other door panels, lighting and an analog clock.

The new Passat has changed the most in terms of technology. The main update of the Passat B7 touched on the line of engines, which has now come into full compliance with the fashion for everything economical and environmentally friendly. The new VW Passat B7 engines consume less fuel and emit less harmful substances into the atmosphere, despite the fact that the performance of these engines has increased significantly. Volkswagen Passat 2012 in all modifications, with the exception of the basic one, is equipped with a generator, which turns on only when the battery needs to be charged. All diesel units are equipped with a start-stop system.

The 2013 BlueMotion VW Passat has increased transmission ratios, some aerodynamic improvements, and a set of tires with reduced rolling resistance. Such improvements allow the most economical car, the 2013 Volkswagen Passat, to consume only 4.2 liters of diesel fuel per 100 kilometers, while emitting 109 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer into the atmosphere.

The improved VW Passat B7 engines are aggregated with a six-speed “mechanics”, as well as a DSG preselective robotic gearbox. All-wheel drive versions of Alltrack are equipped with a proprietary 4Motion system. Passat B7 sedans and station wagons with front-wheel drive are now equipped with the XDS system, which was tested on the “charged” Golf and Polo GTI hatchbacks. It is unlikely that the owners will be able to feel a big difference by reseeding from the sixth “trade wind” to the seventh, because there were still no super-cardinal changes in the running gear of the car. The price of the new Passat varies from one to two million rubles, depending on the type of body and equipment options. One of the least expensive is the 2012 Volkswagen Passat sedan, the price of which does not exceed one and a half million rubles, unless we are talking about a charged version with a 210-horsepower engine under the hood. If the front-wheel drive does not suit you, then it remains only to choose a special version of the Alltrack VW Passat 2012, the price of which is in the region of one and a half million rubles.

The new Passat, like its predecessor, is offered in three equipment variations: Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. The key task facing the developers of the updated VW Passat 2013 was to equip the model with modern driver assistants and introduce new options in the field of comfort. So the new Passat can please buyers with the presence of an emergency braking system at low speeds. This is done for the safety of people on the streets. The latest Automatic Distance Control system will instantly stop your car (at speeds up to thirty kilometers per hour) as soon as an obstacle in the form of a negligent pedestrian appears.

Another assistant to the driver of the Passat 2013 is the anti-sleep driving system, which generates sounds that prevent sleep.

The function of automatically switching from high beam to low beam Dynamic Light Assist (or active head light) migrated to the new Passat from the VW SUV.

A very convenient option for easy access to the luggage compartment Easy Open, installed on the new Passat, allows the driver with busy hands to open the trunk with a slight movement of the foot under the rear bumper in the area of \u200b\u200ba special sensor.

Representative of the automotive business class Volkswagen Passat B7 debuted on the Russian market in May 2011. Do our readers know that the Passat is the most recognizable and popular Volkswagen AG car in Russia? Yes, and this is a fact, the Passat has earned a reputation as a super reliable car over the long years of production (the first generation of the model debuted back in 1973). The first six generations of the model were sold around the world with a circulation of more than 15 million copies. Take a look around, a lot of 3rd and 4th generation Tradewinds drive along the streets of cities and the roads of our country, and these cars are twenty or more years old. Will the new generation of the model succeed in surpassing the Volkswagen Passat B5 in popularity and reliability? In our review, we will try to find out whether the Volkswagen Passat B7 of the 2012-2013 model could inherit the reliability and charisma of its ancestors.

Let's evaluate the exterior and interior of the car together, consider the body options (sedan and station wagon Passat Variant), deal with the technical characteristics (suspension, engine, gearbox), look at the choice of color, tires and rims. Let's arrange a small test drive, get acquainted with the prices and trim levels of the Volkswagen Passat B7 for 2013. We will devote a separate review to the off-road version of the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack. Traditionally, reviews of the owners and their analysis, photo and video materials will help us.

Let's immediately dwell on the two body types of the participant in our review and overall dimensions.
Passat 7th generation is available with a four-door sedan and five-door station wagon. External dimensions sedan (station wagon) are: 4769 mm (4771 mm) long, 1820 mm (with mirrors 2062 mm) wide, 1472 mm (1516 mm) high, 2712 mm wheelbase, ground clearance ( clearance) for Russian versions of cars increased to 165 mm.
The appearance of the Volkswagen Passat B 7 2012-2013 in German is strict and concise. The front of the car with large headlights, between them there is a narrow slot of the radiator grille with four chrome-plated jumpers. A neat front bumper with an additional air duct and a characteristic aerodynamic lip along the lower edge, foglight rectangles. The sloping hood is written with two side ribs, forming small ledges turning into sculptures of wheel arches. When viewed from the side, we enjoy the correctness and calmness of the lines with soft transitions of smooth stampings. It is difficult to say which of the bodies in profile looks more harmonious - a sedan or station wagon, here the preferences of the potential owner will be in priority. In our opinion, both performances look finished and concise.
The rear of the sedan is with large horizontal lighting elements, a neat bumper and a compact trunk lid. Volkswagen Passat B7 station wagon traditionally with a large fifth door, the lower edge deeply entering the bumper profile, and slightly smaller lighting fixtures than the sedan.
The design of the 7th Passat absorbed elements of the appearance of previous generations of the model, but with an eye to the current trends in the world of automotive fashion. An important fact for motorists in Russia is the corrosion-resistant body of the "German", made 74% of high-quality steel with double-sided zinc coating, anti-gravel protection of the bottom and boxes, protection of the engine compartment.

When ordering a car, you can choose the option you like colors enamels from a large palette of options: basic Candy (white) and Urano (Grey), optional Tornado (red), Iron (gray), Light-Brown (light brown), Night Blue (blue), Reflex (silver), Island (grey metallic), Deep (black mother-of-pearl), Black Oak (dark brown).

Volkswagen Passat B 7 in the initial configuration Trendline is equipped with tires 205/ 55 R16 on steel disks 16 sizes, for the Comfortline version, 215/55 R16 tires and 16 radius alloy wheels, and the rich Highline equipment is equipped with advanced self-sealing tires 235/45 R17 on R17 alloy wheels. Larger 215/45 R18 and 225/40 R18 wheels can also be installed, and the choice of wheels is simply huge.

Salon Passat B 7 looks expensive regardless of whether you are in the basic Trendline with fabric seat upholstery (mechanical adjustment, heating, lift) or sit in a leather chair with ventilation and electric drive of the packaged Highline version. The first row seats are simple and flat in appearance, have dense padding, the correct anatomical profile and adequate lateral support. They are also very comfortable and convenient on a long trip. A comfortable and pleasant to the touch steering wheel is adjustable in depth and height, an instrument panel with large radii of the speedometer and tachometer, between them is a multifunctional screen. The front fascia and center console are conservative, with expensive solid wood inserts on the dash and, for all versions, a clock on top of the console. The ergonomics of the controls, the informativeness of the instruments, the quality of the materials and the level of assembly of the cabin are a role model.
In the second row, there is enough space for three adult passengers, but with a caveat. Sitting in the center will interfere with the high transmission tunnel and ventilation deflectors, strongly protruding into the rear of the cabin. But two places are offered with a margin in all directions. The trunk of the sedan in the stowed state holds 565 liters, folding the separate backs of the rear seats we get a flat floor and almost double the capacity. The trunk of the station wagon Volkswagen Passat b7 Option holds from 603 liters with five passengers on board to 1731 liters with the second row seats folded down.

As we said above, the Volkswagen Passat B 7 sedan and Passat Variant B7 station wagon are offered in three complete sets: modest Trendline, harmonious Comfortline and fancy Highline. The Slavic mentality makes you buy only the most luxurious and expensive, so Russian car owners, when choosing their Passat, prefer “packaged” versions of the car. The usual attributes of a modern car will be available: climate control, full power accessories (mirrors, heated front seats, power windows), electric handbrake, heated windshield, alarm and central locking. The bulk of the comfort, entertainment and electronic assistant functions are still offered as options: leather interior, advanced multimedia system with a color screen (navigator, CD MP3 AUX USB 8 speakers), heated rear seats, cruise control, rear LED lights, Park system Pilot with a rear view camera, a system capable of recognizing driver fatigue, bi-xenon headlights, opening the trunk with a wave of the leg under the bumper, and other nice little things.

Petrol

  • 1.4 liter TSI (122 hp) is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission (or automatic 7 DSG automatic transmission), will accelerate to 100 mph in 10.6 seconds, top speed 200 mph, fuel consumption in mixed mode 6.3 liters. In the city, fuel consumption is 8 liters.
  • Petrol 1.8 liter TSI (152 hp) with 6 manual transmissions (7 DSG automatic transmissions) is capable of accelerating the car to 100 km / h in 10.3 seconds and gaining 214 km / h of maximum speed. Fuel consumption will range from 5.4 liters on the highway to 9.7-10 liters in the city.
  • Petrol 2.0 liter TSI (210 hp) with 6 DSG automatic transmission shoots up to the first hundred in 7.7 seconds, acceleration will end at a maximum speed of 233 mph. The appetite of the motor on the highway will be 6.1 liters, and in the city crush 10.9-11.5 liters.
  • 2.0 liter TDI BlueMotion (170 hp) with 6 DSG automatic transmissions, the diesel engine has an enviable temperament up to 100 mph in 8.8 seconds, the maximum achievable speed is 220 mph. Thanks to start-stop systems and brake energy recovery, the diesel engine will please with a modest consumption, 5.5 liters in the combined cycle, and about 6.5 liters in the city.

Feedback from the owners of the Volkswagen Passat B7 confirms the moderate appetite for the new Volkswagen TSI and TDI BlueMotion engines. We will immediately warn potential buyers that motors are prone to increased oil waste - up to 0.5 per 1000 km. Problems with the DSG gearbox are also frequent - rapid wear of the clutch discs, and malfunctions associated with shock absorbers, they can start knocking at 30 thousand kilometers, and over time, the plastic in the cabin creaks. In our opinion, the car did not become worse with the change of generations, just the high cost of the car, multiplied by the more demanding attitude of motorists to quality and maintenance, ultimately results in the owners' high expectations. The slightest knock in the suspension or a creak in the cabin is perceived, as they say - "with hostility".
Suspension is fully independent, MacPherson strut front, four-link rear, arms and subframes made of aluminum. The electromechanical power steering is able to change characteristics depending on the speed of movement, disc brakes with ABS, ESP, EDS, ASR, MSR. As an option, you can order (XDS) an electronic cross-axle differential lock (standard equipment for the Highline version), but, alas, it is not available with the youngest 1.4 liter engine.

Impression

Good day everyone. At the moment, I drove 9,000 km on my Passat B7. I went home to my parents from Krasnoyarsk to Ufa, driving 6,000 km only on the highway. I will say that thanks to the engine, which pulls equally decently in any rev range, I overtook long vehicles without problems, sometimes even went out to overtake in a closed turn with limited visibility without fear (maybe just a fool) and always managed to complete overtaking even in difficult moments.

In general, the engine is 100% satisfied. Many write about the oil burner of this motor, but I did not notice this. Perhaps the fact is that for the first 2,000 km I literally stroked the gas pedal, tried to break in the engine as gently as possible, or some design changes could be made. In general, at 8,500 km (despite the fact that MOT every 15,000 km) came to the dealer for an oil change, the level practically did not decrease. So talk about the maslozhore is “slightly” exaggerated. By the way, MOT cost 3,700 (oil, filter, cover, work).

Chassis. It's a short conversation about her. Namely: for ALL 9,000 KM THERE WAS NEVER A BREAKOUT, although I got into such pits! This is what I really like about her! Moderately hard, quite elastic. The car does not wiggle at all at speed, it keeps on the road perfectly, there is no need to steer. Longitudinal buildup also did not notice. In general, everything is short and clear.

Gasoline consumption also surprised. After my previous Mitsubishi Colt with its modest 1?3-liter engine "ate" 13 liters in the city, I was preparing for something more. It turned out that during the break-in period, a turbo engine with a constantly on air conditioner consumes 11.5 liters per hundred. After running in, this figure dropped to 10.2 l / 100 km! On the highway, my car eats 8.2 liters, but if my wife is driving, then 7.2 liters :)

I must say right away that 150-160 km / h is quite a normal speed for me, and I almost always drive like this (I mean on the highway, not in the city), so you can see for yourself that the consumption is just wonderful. By the way, he travels 160 km / h at an engine speed of 2,800, thanks to a 7-speed gearbox.

In Krasnoyarsk, pour 98 (recommended) at Gazpromneft. There are no comments. I poured 95 several times along the highway (also at Gazpromneft) - I didn’t feel much difference, except that the dynamics at high speeds subsided somewhat, but this is also subjective.

What else? As for the paintwork (LPK), I will say the following: while the hoods rust on the Tianah, and there are a lot of chips on many other Japanese, then on the trade wind for 6,000 km of the track (rubble and gravel were present quite often, a couple of times it even doused from head to feet) on the car, not a single chipped paint, with the exception of two chips on the plastic bumper. That is, the paintwork on the Germans is clearly not micrometer like on the Japanese ...

I will also add that being in this car, I feel that everything was thought out by the engineers just for my sake. Everything is extremely convenient and exactly where it should be! On the Passat, the possibility of accidentally pressing the button for opening the side windows with your elbow is excluded, because. they are exactly where they should be. And such little things in everything! That is, I can’t even imagine what else can be improved in the cabin, with the exception of the right A-pillar (in my opinion, it is too wide and pedestrians are not visible behind it).

However, here are a few of the downsides that I found while using it.

1) As I wrote above - the front left pillar. It needs to be "thinner". Too hide pedestrians when turning right.

2) At speeds above 120-130 km / h, a whistle is heard on the left. Aerodynamics is not thought out in this sense. I don't know why this happens. I sin on the shape of the mirror, it is possible that the whistle is due to it.

3) There is an engine oil temperature sensor in the car, which did not work for me. The dealer fixed everything, of course, but it turned out that the sensor was simply not connected. Hence the conclusion about the curvature of the assemblers. Of course, I understand that this is a trifle, but suddenly somewhere there is also a similar jamb, but in a more important part of the car. For example, in the same gearbox, which is very capricious, and its repair costs 300,000 rubles.

4) The factory declared the maximum speed of the car is 220 km / h, but mine did not accelerate above 178 km / h. As it turned out, this is an error in the engine ECU, it is eliminated by the new UD program. This drawback is present on the very first batches of cars, from the factory. This suggests that the car is still damp, although it is built on the base of the Passat B6 (previous generation) that has already been worked out to the smallest detail.

5) The main disadvantage (although, at the same time, a plus) is the DSG gearbox. Only the lazy did not talk about her fragility. But I reasoned like this: the guarantee for the car (and for absolutely everything that is there, without dividing it into its component parts) is 2 years. If there is any “jamb” in the box, then in 2 years it will definitely come out. Therefore, the fact! Problems! boxes didn't stop me :)

Due to the fact that the engine does not warm up at idle, it was decided to install a Webasto for the winter. Let's see what happens to her.

Passat B7 debuted in autumn 2010. The changes outside were significant. The body received sharper lines, new Passat b7 headlights, grille and bumpers. Inside, the transformations are much less - the interior has remained almost untouched. As well as the platform, which, in comparison with the previous generation, has a slightly increased wheelbase. Volkswagen Passat B7 has acquired a revised range of engines - the German has become even more economical and environmentally friendly. Thanks to this, in 2013 it was possible to break the Guinness record - a production car with a 2.0 TDI engine ran through all US states, consuming an average of only 3.02 liters of diesel fuel per 100 km.

Story

The start of the release of this car was dated September 2010, when the first model was presented at the auto show in Parise . A group of automotive artists, headed by the head of the Volkswagen design service, Walter da Silva, then did a great job on the appearance of the car. However, despite the fact that a lot of work has been done on the exterior, it still cannot be said that radical changes were made in the seventh generation cars from the sixth. The changes affected the design of the front of the car - the radiator grille and optics were modified here, we also note the appearance of new body panels. The changes did not actually affect the interior, and there were no changes in the dimensions of the car - the addition to the length of 4 mm is not considered here. The Volkswagen Passat B7 entered dealerships towards the end of November 2010.

In 2011, the launch of the production of these vehicles in China was launched. And here the generation was divided into two groups. The first version of the car, which is considered an analogue of the European one, is produced to this day by the Shanghai-VW joint venture and the cars were called NMS. The second version is now produced by the FAW-VW concern. The difference between these versions from the standard German B7 is that the car body has become 10 cm longer, and this is due to the fact that the joint venture decided to increase the degree of comfort for passengers in the rear of the car.

Auto safety

From the point of view of design features, Passat b7 cars do not have significant differences from sixth generation cars. . In particular, the body frame has not undergone any changes. And therefore, for the B7 car, the estimates have not changed in comparison with the predecessor cars. Recall that the sixth Passat earned the highest scores on the results of crash tests in side and frontal collisions. Euro NCAP experts rated the level of pedestrian safety at a confident four, and such an assessment is a real rarity for modern cars of a similar class to the B7.

RP engines

For cars vw Passat engines of the model range were designed RP . The most reliable and high-quality engine in the entire model range is considered to be a gasoline engine with a volume of 1.8 liters and a power of 110 hp. It can be said that all systems in the engine are of very high quality, the material of the components and mechanisms has increased resistance to wear, and in general, all systems work without interruption. The concern's specialists did a good job of sealing the systems, and it was here that the problem of oil leakage, typical for all Volkswagen cars, disappeared. The engine is almost perfect, because it does not act up either at low speeds, or at idle, or at high speeds.

But only one RP engine turned out so good. All other engines were subject to one very well-known "affliction" of power units. Many motorists are afraid that the engine will triple after a certain time. And it was on RP engines that such a misunderstanding occurred - the engine troit on Volkswagen Passat B7 cars.

Test Drive

Volkswagen Passat B7 2012-2013: driving the 7th version is a real pleasure, the suspension is set to the border of comfort and handling. On the one hand, the chassis and steering make it possible not to notice even large pits, and on the other hand, to pass turns with filigree clarity. It is a real pleasure to operate a car on a highway with a high-quality road surface; like a long-range express, it is ready to “devour” hundreds of kilometers of the highway.

What is the price:

the price of the 2013 Volkswagen Passat B7 sedan in Russia for sale in car dealerships starts at 932,000 rubles. You can buy a new Passat Variant B7 2013 at a price of 1,004,000 rubles.
Since the Volkswagen Passat 7 version is a high-tech car, it is better to entrust such issues as purchase, diagnostics, tuning and repair to an authorized dealer who will provide further car service. It is cheaper and easier to buy covers, mats and other accessories for the Passat B7, as well as spare parts for repair and tuning, either at specialized retail outlets or in online stores.

Advantages and disadvantages

The advantages of the Volkswagen Passat B7 include a large range of engines for all tastes. There are both gasoline engines, diesel engines, and gasoline / gas engines that can run on two types of fuel. Also pleased with the presence of a good suspension, combined with excellent handling. You can also note the good dynamics of acceleration, and low fuel consumption by TSI engines. The presence of modern robotic gearboxes and classic mechanics is a good option. And of course the design, the car looks beautiful and expensive. Excellent soundproofing. Runs well in winter.

The disadvantages include a small ground clearance. To some, the suspension may seem harsh. The DSG-6 has significantly more oil consumption than the DSG-7.

Salon

Salon Passat B7 is spacious. It can easily accommodate five adults. The front seats are very comfortable. It is very easy to find a comfortable position behind the wheel, thanks to the large ranges of various adjustments. The trunk is impressive for its size, especially in the station wagon, which, if necessary, can accommodate up to 1731 liters of cargo.

It should be noted that the Volkswagen Passat B7 has slightly surpassed its predecessor in terms of performance. The interior plastic of the sixth generation VW Passat was of good quality,
but after a few years it began to creak, and the varnish peeled off the leather steering wheel sheath. The same thing happened with the chrome on the gear selector. In the Passat B7, things are a little better with this. Cars with mileage over 150,000 km, although they look good, but the interior is not without signs of wear. Plastic after a while also begins to make extraneous sounds, which is the result of an almost identical design. In this sense, the legendary quality of the VW Passat is a little lame.

Salon Passat B7 is filled with all sorts of compartments for storing things: in the armrest of the rear sofa, in the niches of the doors and in the pockets on the backs of the seats. In front you will find a large glove compartment, a small box between the gear lever and the armrest, closed by a retractable curtain, and a roomy box between the seats. However, the practical compartment above the main display, familiar to owners of the sixth Passat, is gone.

Transmission

The engine was paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6- or 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. If the manual transmission is considered reliable, and drivers praise it for its good gear shifting clarity, then the DSG can cause some trouble. The automated box works comfortably, but the complex design increases the risk of costly repairs. Especially when the owner is not worried about regular oil changes. Both the mechanical elements and the switching control unit fail. A DSG repair costs about $1,000.

Interesting facts about Volkswagen Passat B7 cars

At the end of October 2011, a new Volkswagen car model was presented at the Tokyo Motor Show, which was built on the basis of the Passat B7 - Volkswagen Passat Alltrack . This model was designed to fill the gap between Volkswagen crossovers and station wagons of the same brand. If we compare this car with the usual simple Passat, it becomes clear that it has much more ground clearance - by 3 cm, the approach angle has also increased to 16 degrees, and the exit angle has become large - 13.6. This car is not only equipped with all-wheel drive, but also supplemented with an electronic differential lock. In addition to all this, the car also received an assistance system at the exit from the slope. In other words, this version of the Passat became a symbiosis of the Volvo XC70 and the Subaru Outback, thus turning into a rather serious station wagon that received good off-road potential.

Another interesting fact about the Passat B7 is as follows. An American married couple in 1012 managed to set a record for efficiency on their diesel version of the B7. The car, which had a 140-horsepower engine under the hood, managed to overcome 2601 km with only 73 liters (!) of fuel . The couple managed to bring the conditions of the trip as close as possible to real ones - for this, the car was in continuous motion 14 hours a day, and 55 kg of luggage was additionally weighted. This record is now officially listed in the Guinness Book of Records.

The generation of Passat B7 cars is notable for the fact that it has in its equipment an innovative system for opening the luggage compartment, called "kick in the ass" . The sensor with which the door is opened is located under the bumper, and in order to open the trunk, the driver needs to put his foot in such a way as if he wants to kick the car. And in order to insure the car against accidental openings, the system is set up in such a way that it can only work if the driver has the ignition key in his pocket.
