The Bravo II hatchback debuted in early 2007. He came to replace the Stilo model and Fiat management has high hopes for it. The novelty has a distant ancestor - the first generation Bravo, released ten years ago. The car was very successful and even became the "Car of the Year - 96" in Europe, but the expected sales volumes could not be achieved. The problems of the concern itself began to worsen. The then leaders of the concern were quick to declare that the business that is done on small cars is a small business and that Fiat needed to "shift the center of gravity." Stilo was called to displace him. However, in the market Stilo actually failed completely. Buyers were not ready to pay such a high price for Fiat. But no one canceled the strategy of entering higher segments of the market, and now a new golf-class car will have to “shift the center of gravity”: the Fiat Bravo II generation. The return to the name Bravo does not indicate a lack of imagination, but rather a desire to regain the lost attention of buyers.

This car is the beginning of a new era in the history of the brand. The company has even developed a new emblem, which will appear on the new Bravo for the first time. Unlike the Stilo and Bravo of the first generation, there will be no different body options. Bravo II will only be offered as a five-door version.

Stylistically, the novelty embodies a fundamentally new trend in fiat design. Now the company's designers draw inspiration from the classic Fiat models of the 60s (with their curvaceous forms and rounded sides), as well as the appearance of modern Maserati models. From the latter, the new Bravo borrowed the characteristic design of the front end, the bold lines of the silhouette and the dissecting body sidewalls of the stamping. From experiments with Stilo, we decided to leave the platform adapted to production needs and overall dimensions. The body has a clear wedge shape, all lines are swift and rounded. The car turned out to be discreet, but beautiful and modern. At the same time, the Italian origin is unmistakably guessed in the appearance of Bravo, which gives this model sophistication and expressiveness.

The suspension is built according to a reliable and traditional scheme for this class: a pseudo-MacPherson strut at the front and a semi-independent design at the rear.

The developers paid a lot of attention to the interior design and functionality of the front panel, as well as the level of equipment and on-board electronics, designed to monitor both the safety and comfort of passengers. Bravo has a beautiful interior: the cabin is made of high quality materials, even the smallest details are carefully designed.

There have also been big changes in the engine lineup. And if the base engine for the novelty, in principle, is already known from previous models (this is a 1.4-liter 90-horsepower gasoline unit), then the other four will make their debut on the Bravo II. Two 1.4-liter petrol turbo engines developing, depending on boost pressure, 120 or 150 hp. And a pair of 1.9-liter turbodiesels of the Multijet series (same power).

It is assumed that at the end of 2007 there will be new 1.6-liter turbodiesels with a capacity of 105 and 120 hp.

A golf class model must first of all be practical. With external dimensions quite classic for class C (length 4340 mm, width 1790 mm and height 1490 mm), the car has a very large wheelbase - 2600 mm. According to company representatives, this allowed the designers of the model to provide a decent level of comfort for each of the five passengers, as well as increase the volume of the luggage compartment to 400 liters, which is one of the best indicators in the class.

Bravo will be sold in over 60 countries, including markets in South America and Asia. The company plans to sell 120,000 units during the first year.

The Fiat Bravo, whose photo is posted in this article, is a compact Italian hatchback with a difficult history. The predecessor of the Bravo was the popular Fiat Tipo, winner of the title of "Best Car in Europe in 1998". However, despite the prestigious title, Tipo was discontinued in 2001. Two new models came to replace it at once: Fiat Bravo and Fiat Brava. The first was produced with a three-door hatchback, the second with a five-door. Otherwise, there were no differences. The Fiat Brava was exported to the US and sold there under the name Fiat 131.

The double version of the model was purely conditional, usually the number of doors determines the modification of the car, but not an independent model with its own name. Nevertheless, the car was produced in two versions, which caused some confusion when selling.

Power plant model "Bravo" / "Brava"

For the double version, several engines of different power were developed:

Base engine - 1.4 liters, 12 valves, thrust 80 liters. With.; petrol engine 1.6 l, 16 valves, power 103 l. With.; 1.8 liters, 16 valves, power 113 hp With.; two-liter, 20 valves, with a thrust of 147 liters. with., with which the car developed a speed of 213 km / h.

Later, a 155-horsepower engine appeared, with a volume of 2.7 liters - it was installed on order.

In addition to gasoline engines, two turbodiesels were offered, with a volume of 1.9 liters, with a capacity of 76 and 102 hp. With.

End of production of the model "Bravo" / "Brava"

In 1996, the Bravo/Brava twin hatchback won the 1996 European Car of the Year Award. The car turned out to be a worthy successor to the same titled "Fiat Tipo", with the difference that the "Bravo" / "Brava" technical characteristics were significantly improved. For example, in speed, the new Fiats were much superior to their predecessor - 213 versus 150 kilometers per hour.

Simultaneously with the current production of "Bravo" / "Brava", in 1997 a sedan was developed and launched under the name "Fiat Marea", and in 1998 - a six-seater family minivan "Fiat Multipla".

In 1999, the Bravo / Brava model was restyled with another engine replacement. At the same time, radical changes were made in the interior, the instrument panel was modernized, the seat upholstery changed color, and new power window servos appeared in the cabin.

After modernization, cars were produced for another two years, then their production was discontinued. The new Fiat Stilo has replaced the Bravo/Brava.

Intermediate model

The successor to the Bravo/Brava model was also produced in two versions - a three-door and a five-door hatchback. The car belongs to the C-segment and represents the golf class category. The car was created on the Fiat front-wheel drive platform C-D-H. It has several modifications, including with a station wagon body.

"Fiat Bravo" 2007

Hatchback "Stilo" was produced until 2006 inclusive. Then the Bravo model of a new generation was launched into mass production, the success of which was hoped by all the management of Fiat. However, contrary to expectations, the majority of buyers did not show much desire to return to the previous model, albeit quite successful in the past. The title given to the car in 1996, many managed to forget, and the "Bravo" had no new merits.

Nevertheless, the new Fiat Bravo, whose photos were posted in all publications covering events in the automotive world, was gradually gaining popularity. Designers have developed a new emblem, which has become a symbol of the updated model. The car was produced only in a five-door version, there were no other modifications.

The exterior of the new "Bravo" turned out to be generally restrained, but refined and modern. The contours were expressive and created the impression of swiftness.

Chassis

The high speed characteristics of the Fiat Bravo are ensured by the well-coordinated work of the car's suspensions. A multi-link MacPherson strut independent front and an articulated sway bar rear - both systems are designed for a dynamic driving style, with the entry into tight turns at high speed. A special system of course stability keeps the car from skidding. Thanks to well-balanced undercarriage mechanisms, the machine moves in a straight line at a speed of over two hundred kilometers per hour.

Interior

The interior space of the Fiat Bravo model is rationally and tastefully arranged. The high level of technical equipment of the cabin organically interacts with on-board electronics. High-quality materials, genuine leather and velor are used for upholstery of seats and door panels. All details are carefully worked out, each technical device is in its place. The machine is equipped with air conditioning and efficient heating, both systems are controlled by special sensors that regulate the operating mode in accordance with the current temperature data.

For a golf-class model, the Fiat Bravo has a fairly high level of comfort, each of the five passengers is located with maximum convenience.

Customer opinion

The car "Fiat Bravo" from the category of compact, but upscale models. The speed of two hundred kilometers per hour, which the car reaches effortlessly, speaks of a powerful engine, perfectly balanced chassis and good aerodynamics. All these qualities are noted by the owners, speaking about their impressions. A lot of positive feedback regarding the comfort of the model.

"Fiat Bravo", reviews of which have always been only positive, is one of the most sought-after cars on the European market. In addition, it has the prospect of development through the implementation of significant technical potential. Currently, preparations are underway for the next project, called "Fiat 2017", in its creation the experience of the past decade will be used.

And the name of this car is Fiat Bravo - not a very popular car with low fuel consumption.

The manufacturer after some time decided to restore the production of this model, and as a result, in 2007, the second generation of this hatchback appeared. The model was tested by the company for safety, as a result, it received the maximum 5 stars.

The car looks good, in front it has a slightly embossed hood on the sides, these reliefs move towards the headlights. The optics itself has a good shape, it is not simple and at the same time not straight with a modern design, but lined. The bumper is decorated with a large chrome grille, almost in the middle of which there is a crossbar, it will have a license plate. At the bottom of the bumper has a skirt, and just above the fog lights.

From the side, the Fiat Bravo model looks more simply than from the front, with slightly swollen wheel arches, lines on the doors leading to the taillight and a little chrome around the windows. The rear has a slightly off-the-wall optic that makes the design more endearing. But the rear bumper is really massive, it has various bulges that give it a little brutality.

Specifications

And now let's talk about the most interesting part is the technical part. Buyers are offered four types of power units:

  1. The first engine is a 1.4-liter gasoline unit, its power is 120 forces, but there is a Sport version in which the power increases to 150. Also, this motor can be ordered with a capacity of 90 and 140 forces. The first version already shows good dynamic performance, it is almost 10 seconds to the mark of 100 km/h, and the maximum speed is 195 km/h. The sports version shows a result of 8.5 seconds, and its maximum speed is 212 km / h. The consumption of this engine is relatively low, the first version uses 8 liters per hundred, and the sport version is 9 liters;
  2. The 1.6 liter diesel engine is also offered in three versions: 90.105 and 120 horsepower. Unfortunately, in terms of dynamics, these engines are weak, not one of the Fiat Bravo engines gains a hundred faster than in 10 seconds. The fuel consumption of these units is small, for the most powerful version this figure is 6 liters of diesel fuel, and only four will be required on the highway.
  3. Another diesel engine is already 1.9 liters and has a capacity of 120 or 150 horsepower. The first acceleration to hundreds takes 10 seconds, and the second nine. The consumption of diesel fuel for these units is also small, the first uses 7 liters, and the second uses half a liter more.
  4. The latest and most powerful powertrain is the 2.0-litre engine that produces 165 horsepower. This engine consumes little fuel, while it is quite dynamic, only 8 seconds to 100 km / h, and the maximum speed is 214 km / h.

Interior

Since this is a small 5-door hatchback, there will not be too much space in it, but it will be enough both in front and in the back for people of average build. The steering wheel of a Fiat Bravo car is 3-spoke with controls for a multimedia system on which gearshift paddles will be installed upon purchase.

The dashboard consists of two large analog instruments, a speedometer and a tachometer. As well as two small devices that are located between the previous ones, this is an oil pressure sensor and a fuel level sensor, and already under them is an on-board computer.

On the center console, there is a multimedia system with a beautiful design of control buttons on top, buttons and a screen for climate control are located below, and even lower is a USB input and a cigarette lighter. Seats with mechanical adjustments, but at the same time they have pronounced lateral support.

The car has a good trunk for its class, its volume is 400 liters and at the same time it is possible to fold the rear row of seats and increase the volume to 1175 liters.

Fiat Bravo is a beautiful and yet modern car with a beautiful interior, powerful engines in the lineup, which will be good for the city, as it has low consumption, small dimensions and at the same time can go fast.
