The great Russian poet A. Fet once wrote quite a lot of works on the theme of nature. Through the description of nature, he expressed his thoughts and feelings. The unrequited love of the poet for Maria Lazich left a deep mark in his memoirs, so the longing for this woman can be seen in many of his lyrical works.

After reading A. Fet's poem "Autumn Rose", you immediately find yourself in a period of sad late autumn. Autumn for Fet is a time of departure and farewell, and also a time when you can calmly indulge in reflection. But no matter how

Cool, autumn is empty. That is why, when reading this poem, you involuntarily catch yourself thinking that there is nothing outside of autumn, only eternity and emptiness. But the only glimmer of hope is the rose, which does not want to say goodbye to warmth, so it “breathes in spring” from it.

The title of the poem fully reflects its plot.

At the beginning of Fet's work, with the help of a poetic device, the personification draws the autumn season ("September died," and so on). The author is sad for the bright colors, which with the onset of autumn faded and almost disappeared, they were washed away by heavy rains.

But a little later in all its glory

The reader is presented with a rose, which symbolizes life, which is able to remind the author of those warm sunny days. It brings next spring. This is how a sharp change of pictures is carried out in the work.

Fet erects a rose on a high pedestal, calling her the queen, the one and only.

So, finally, the lyrical conflict that takes place in this poem is resolved. It is a magnificent rose that pleases the poet with bright spring colors. Only she alone helps him not to fall into the autumn blues. Despite all the trials, when the day rolls to its end, it is the rose that blows next spring and gives hope to the future.

Quite often, A. Fet uses pictures of nature in his poems to express his deep feelings. Nature plays one of the main roles in his works, sometimes helping to resolve the hero's lyrical conflict.

The whole life of the poet Athanasius Fet is filled with mysterious events. Until today, the exact date of his birth is not clear, there is no exact data about his own father. But the picture of the love relationship between Fet and Maria Lazich seems even more mysterious.

Maria was the sister of the girl Elena, to whom Fet, as a young soldier, inflamed with feelings. She, like a married woman who loves her husband, refused Athanasius. He soon turned his attention to Helen's sister Maria. But Mary also rejected his courtship, saying that she was going to marry another. In fact, Maria was madly in love with Fet, she knew him from poems that she reread from time to time, she had no plans for the next marriage, Maria was very offended that the poet did not pay attention to her and began to court only at the moment of refusal sisters. The young people did not stop talking. Fet eventually realized that he was in love with Maria, but he never opened his feelings. Soon Maria died a terrible death - burned alive in the house. Fet all his life could not forgive himself that he did not have time to talk with Maria and open his feelings to her. Researchers believe that all Fet's love lyrics are dedicated to Maria Lazich.

Already after the death of the poet, several poignant poems dedicated to Lazich were found in his desk, which even the poet's legal wife did not know about. Fet's last poems are imbued with the bitterness of loss, the full horror of which he realized only many years later. It was at the moment of realizing that his life was coming to an end that the poet realized that no material values can replace true mutual love. However, almost no one knew exactly what Fet felt at these moments, so not everyone sees the allegories that the poet resorted to in these poems.

In 1886, Fet wrote the poem "Autumn Rose". In it, he recreates the picture of the garden after severe frosts: the dahlias died, the garden was literally bare, and only the rose retained all its beauty.

Here, the poet understands the rose as his distant beloved Maria Lazich. He remembers her beauty, not wanting to put up with the idea that the girl is no longer alive. Maria seems to be invisibly present next to Fet.

In this poem, the author seems to be shouting that we should all appreciate those people who love us and whom we love. Life is unpredictable, and we don’t know what will happen tomorrow, so you shouldn’t hide your true feelings, you don’t need meaningless stupid quarrels, you need to enjoy moments of unity and mutual understanding.

Perhaps there is no person who would not be familiar with one of the greatest poets of the 19th century - the Golden Age of Russian literature - A.A. Fet. Working almost at the turn of the century, forcing the change of generations, changes in the social system and way of life of the Russian people, he managed to capture in his lyrics all the most beautiful, subtle and sincere that the era offered him - and even anticipate the impressionistic beginnings that would be characteristic of symbolist poetry ; in the 20th century, the Fetov tradition will receive special development and refraction in the lyrics of B. Pasternak, who, like his teacher, will be able to "capture the moment and turn it into eternity."

The wisest, Fet, in the seeming simplicity of his lines, is able to describe his own experiences in an amazingly sensual, frankly and sincere way, to pour out the most intimate emotions on paper. He, conquered by the harmony of nature and man, as a product of the beautiful Cosmos, deifies life in all its manifestations - that is why his lyrics are characterized by a joyful, major mood, which the poet will carry through his whole life and which he will keep even in later poems, written, according to the classic himself through pain and sorrow.

The later poems of Afanasy Afanasyevich are filled with humility towards the approaching departure from life; the poet does not think of death as an inevitable tragedy, on the contrary, he accepts it as a friend, as something that can bring him closer to God. And even such philosophical works, in which the most complex questions of the meaning of being are raised, are characterized by landscape. One of these late works of Afanasy Afanasyevich is "Autumn Rose" - perhaps one of the most difficult poems in terms of interpretation.

Some researchers associate his writing with the pantheism characteristic of the author's work, the search for and capture of the harmony of nature. However, perhaps more accurate will be the version of other literary critics, who believe that behind the images of dying autumn and the “Queen of the Roses” there are motives for depicting the afterlife and even striving for it; behind the rose, the image of the deceased beloved Fet, the only muse in the life of the poet, is symbolically hidden. It turns out that in "Autumn Rose", in addition to the philosophical one, the love theme also rises - this amazing semantic fullness of the text makes the work a masterpiece of poetry of "pure art".

The elegy "Autumn Rose" (however, sometimes the genre of this poem is defined as a love letter to the untimely departed Maria Lazich) consists of only three quatrains, which are plotless, at first glance, a landscape sketch. In it, Fet notes how, among the withering nature, a strong and beautiful rose bud retains its charm, having survived all the hardships. The lyrical hero, enjoying a flower, finds the strength to remember the spring of life, the most beautiful years.

Despite its apparent simplicity, the poem is complex in its semantic, emotional message. The classic, who is on the verge of death, is in dire need of beauty, that will allow him to enjoy the passing time without sorrows, without suffering. A beautiful rose becomes a symbol of memories that bring peace to the passionate soul of the poet. For him, thoughts about Maria Lazich become such a memory, for whose death the classic will blame himself until the last day of his life. He will even make several suicide attempts, trying to reunite with his beloved as soon as possible - it is in the context of Fet's biography that the hypothesis of literary critics appears that in Autumn Rose Afanasy Afanasyevich describes his desire to bring closer the meeting with the deceased Lazich.

It is not for nothing that Fet chooses a rose as an allegorical arrangement - eternally fresh, beautiful and, unfortunately, fragile. The queen of flowers only "breath" and "shape" "blows in the spring" on the lyrical hero. In these lines, one can clearly feel the impossibility of touching the rose, physically feeling its charm - and the hero has to be content with only barely perceptible ethers.

Despite the fact that the poem consists of only 12 lines, A. Fet managed to create incredibly bright, attractive images in lyrical simplicity. The main technique on which the entire imagery of the "Autumn Rose" is built is personification. With the classic, September, and the wind, and, of course, the rose come to life. In addition, the poet contrasts the dying nature with the beautiful queen of flowers, emphasizing her harmony. At the same time, the elegy is not rich in epithets, metaphors and other means. Instead of pretentiousness, Fet resorts to the use of sound writing: alliteration is found in almost every line, for example, in the last two.

Due to the fact that the work is written in iambic tetrameter with cross-rhyming, its special intonational sound is created, slightly slowed down and melodious.

“Autumn Rose” is perhaps the most amazing and sensual poem by A.A. Feta, which raises the themes of life and death, love and its significance in human life. At the same time, the most complex philosophical categories are comprehended by the author through his observation of the pictures of nature.

Analysis of the poem - Autumn Rose

A. A. Fet wrote a lot of poems about nature, in which he tried to convey his state of mind, thoughts and feelings. Afanasy Afanasyevich was visited by an unhappy love (for Maria Lazich) and therefore, it seems to me, in many poems there is a longing for her.

Reading this poem, you feel some sadness in your soul, as a sad late autumn is described. Autumn is a time of rest, a time of departure and farewell, a time of reflection. She is filled with emptiness. It seems that outside of autumn there is nothing but eternity. But at the same time, it is pleasing that the only rose does not want to let go of the warm season, so it “breathes in spring”.

The title of the poem reflects the whole story. It is addressed to the most beautiful and divine flower, the rose.

He showered the forest on his peaks,

The garden bared its brow.

At first, Fet expresses great regret, because with the onset of autumn, bright colors disappear, long torrential rains begin, dampness and dirt all around. Yearning. But then, as if by chance, he notices a magnificent rose creature:

But in the breath of frost Between the dead alone, Only you alone, queen rose, Fragrant and magnificent. And then he realizes that life goes on, that the flower will remind him of sunny days and carry him into the future, closer to spring. Thus, there is a change of pictures in the poem.

The poet raises the rose on a pedestal, calls her the queen, considers her the one and only:

Only you alone, queen rose,

Fragrant and opulent.

So the lyrical conflict finds its resolution. A magnificent rose helps the poet not to fall into the autumn melancholy: In spite of the cruel trials And the malice of the fading day, You blow on me with the shape and breath of Spring.
